Hi pple!!! My school started today…. A very exciting day for me but quite disappointing too… didn’t get to make any aussie friends yet…. Too many Singaporeans around to break through the comfort zone… to take the step to meet new pple! Anyway, I believe that the opportunity will still be there…. Hahha… Had my first tutorial today…. Quite interesting. Kind of like “show and tell”… Doing sth like Sand Play…. If that’s what it’s called… It is something about the use of objects/symbols to express sth and/or to infer what one is feeling or sth…. Dunno if that is true.. After I checked it out maybe I will update u pple if u are interested…. There was another lecture on Evidence based Practice in Occupational therapy, whereby we will be taught how to find, select and read the literature and journals on our practice to provide the best interventions for our clients… This is taught in deeper depth as compared to the curriculum in Spore. Had another lecture on Lifespan models, Erikson’s model which I had learnt in NYP previously, but it was still quite interesting in a boring way…. The lecturer seems to be a rather philosophical person, who is rather soft in his speech volume… like to mumble to himself, tells some jokes that I can’t understand at times…
Anyway, coming to the 3rd week of staying in Melbourne…. Feeling nothing special. Just separated from my mother whom I like to hug a lot………….. SIAN…… missing all the food that I can eat in Spore as I mentioned in the last entry…. Have to deal with some issues about staying together with friends.. tolerating each other’s mood swings, which irks me at times, having to give in to the person, blah blah……… haiz… Anyway, one of the empty rooms in the house will be rented out to this Indian couple (dun even know if they are couple or siblings… ahhahha).. seems like nice pple. Hopefully things will be just fine!
Another brand new day tml! So I will have to sleep early! Hahha… my lessons tml is only like 9 – 11am LOR!!!!!!!!!!! Cannot make it… all because we couldn’t get the password to log into the system to choose our tutorial timings…. Administration work is really slow here at times!!!!!!!!! Bloody Hell…..
Anyway, when u pple talk to me, PLS tell me to eat less or sth k! I’m like a bottomless pit now.. feeling hungry HYPER frequently! Hahhahah… See ya around!

About 2 weeks has passed since I reached Melbourne, surprisingly, I have not started to feel homesick yet….. Feels quite unreal to be in this foreign country, starting a “completely” different kind of lifestyle. One thing I miss is the FOOD!!! Home cooked food that my granny and my mother cooks…. The fried carrot cake at the market… sesame oil chicken noodles…. Haiz… and the list goes on…. Guess the only way to solve this is to learn how to cook it myself….. hahhah…. Who knows… I may become a renowned chef when I get back in Spore. Hahha…
Anyway, today, I decided to splurge a little so I decided to eat New Zealand Natural Ice cream in this horribly cold weather of 6 degree celcius…. Luckily I brought my thickest jacket, which actually made me look like a country bumpkin and big red block… hahha…. It kept me warm despite the cold ice cream (that didn’t melt in this weather) and the freezing breeze while we walked along the streets…. It was quite an experience… my hands felt numb after that (as I had to expose my hands in the wind to eat my ice cream)… but it was really satisfying… made me a bit happier today…. Hahha…. (everyone seems a bit grumpy and grouchy today… dunno why…)
Anyway, life living with friends is really different from staying with own family members… (Not as if u pple dun know)….. A LOT of compromises and getting use will be taking place… getting use to one’s temperaments, habits, blah blah and the list goes on…. Hopefully this coming one year will go just fine, with minimum conflicts among us all…… Everyone will hopefully be understanding and stuff…. Shouldn’t be a huge problem I think…..
Haiz… dunno why my family doesn’t seem to be coming online tonight… have been waiting for them for almost 2 hours liao…. Kinda disappointing…. Starting to miss hugging my mum…. Sleeping on my own bed with my long bolster… bullying my brother, getting him to help me do things… sharing the same bed with my sister, drinking my father’s coffee………. HAIz…. Better stop thinking about it….

Hi pple…. the long wait has been fruitful. I decided to re- start writing blogs again….. hahha… (at least for the time being). ANyway, you pple must be curious about what’s happening in my life now. (Basically nothing much as usual….. hahha….) I’ll explain in more details before JY and KM kills me about saying that i have a boring life, nothing to say, etc…..
As you pple know, I touched down on thursday morning… facing the cold, chilly windy morning. Thank goodness I brought 2 thick coats. otherwise i would have frozen to death… so after reaching the temporary hostel… we went off on the hunt for a house that can accomodate 5 pple. anyway, let me first describe u the hostel…. It WAS quite TERRible actually. They only on the heater from 7 pm- 630am. Basically at other timing, my friends and I are all freezing cold….. the place has a shared kitchen where everyone shares the same utensils which looked disgusting. Luckily we had a small thermal pot that allowed us to cook some instant noodles and soup….
Ehm…. i think this is going to be too lenghty..so i decided to cut short with my narrative account.. hahha. (as u can see, i am still as lame as ever).
Anyway, the suburb of Melbourne is basically a dead town after 5 pm… (5 pm is the time when the sun is down here. In addition, Melbourne is faster than Spore by 2 hr… Which means by 3pm in Spore, the sky in Melbourne is dark… CAN you believe THAT??!).
REgarding the transportion system… a bus comes on a half hourly basis.. so if you miss on… you will have to brave the cold and the wind to wait for the next. (No wonder almost everyone has a car here). The food here is extremely expensive. One individual set meal can cost u at least $7 …. but we discovered this pizza place… one only pay about AUD$4 to eat 3-4 slices of pizza.. Good deal right? ate it for 3 consecutive days…. hahha and hasn’t gotten sick of it. But my friends are…. so i have to change my menu… hahahha….
Current accomodation:
As you pple know, I moved in into my “new” house last wednesday… Most of the things are not done yet… WE have not gotten locks on our doors, there are clutters of things all around. the clothes lines are filled with spider webs….the yellow lighting is damn bad for the eyes… and the landlord gotten cheap table lamps which i think is making my eyes damn tired now…..and the list goes on.. But basically this place is nice and cosy….. it has another 3 empty rooms… (hopefully nobody wants the room…. hahhah…. then my friends and I can have it to ourselves…)
Anyway, the trees and birds in Victoria are really nice. My friends keep laughing at me for liking trees that are almost bare (with only branches left)….. My school has a wildlife reserve park… and we took a walk the other day and we managed to see at least 5 kangaroos close up.. hahha… Quite exciting and interesting for me….
So did i miss out on anything>??? anyway, I’m feeling like a housewife living here…. washing toilets (duty roster), cooking porridge for lunch…. cooking dinner… cleaning up the room and stuff,,,….. hahha. Hopefully i wun get too aunty… at the end of one and half years!!!!!!!!!!!

* anyway, i got christian name under the “pressure” of my friends and their suggestion. But don’t call me by this name when i am back in Spore k…. i’m called Beth… a bit tpp christian-ish for me i think,…. hahhahas….
